Datowana na 28 lutego ukazała się oficjalnie wersja 3.98.04 aplikacji pocztowej The Bat! firmy RitLabs. Tradycyjnie dostępne są dwie wersje Home (do użytku domowego) i Professional (do działalności komercyjnej i dla użytkowników zaawansowanych). Obie edycje w wersjach demo można pobrać stąd. Pełna lista zmian (w wersji oryginalnej) jakie zaszły w najnowszej edycji znajduje się w dalszej części newsa lub pod tym adresem. Część poprawek dotyczy usprawnienia działania "nietoperka" w systemie Vista. Wprowadzono także automatyczny backup.

[+] The Bat! is now Restart-Manager-aware under Windows Vista. Restart Manager reduces the number of reboots required after updates and installations of applications dynamically, by temporarily stopping and restarting affected applications.
[*] The Bat! during MAPI connections with Exchange servers now receives meeting request and other non-email messages to Inbox folder.
[*] Windows Vista restart manager can update The Bat! and system components (DLLs) used by The Bat! without restarting Windows. It only restarts The Bat! and the other applications that use these DLLs. During the restart of The Bat!, all open message editors are closed, and the messages are saved as "draft" in the Outbox. You will then be able to open these drafts for further editing. To update The Bat! via the MSI (thebat_pro_X-XX-XX.msi), you don't even need to close The Bat!. Just run the MSI and follow the instructions.

Odradzam tego klienta... (autor: Seba78 | data: 7/03/07 | godz.: 17:44) dwa razy się zepsuł po tym jak się mocno zapełnił... ok 300 mb poczty. Tunderbird jest o wiele bardziej niezawodny chociaż mniej funkcjonalny.
A ja polecam... (autor: Kenjiro | data: 7/03/07 | godz.: 18:28) Posiadam średnio 1.5GB poczty w użyciu, chwilami >2GB i radzi sobie dużo lepiej niż Thunderbird, który się strasznie muli.

Thunderbird przy takiej ilości maili niestety nie daje rady....

i ja się z Sebą nie zgodzę... (autor: Coyote | data: 10/03/07 | godz.: 02:00) Używając Thunderbirda przez krótki okres (2 tygodnie) straciłem całą pocztę z tego okresu. Szczęśliwie poczta sprzed tego okresu była bezpieczna w kopii zapasowej The Bata. Uff, nic ważnego nie zginęło.
