Did you know that Windows XP (and Win2000) allows you to mount hard drives as folders in pre-existing hard drive by using the Computer Management applet in the Administrative Tools Control Panel?? This will let you seamlessly move all your apps or games onto a new drive without having to reinstall them, thus freeing space on your old drive and taking advantage of the new drive at the same time. Here's how to do it:
Take the directory you want to move to the new drive-- the directories that hold your games or MP3 are the obvious candidates-- and copy every file and folder in to a newly installed and NTFS-formatted drive.After you're sure they've been copied,delete them from the orginal drive.Naw,go to the Control Panel,open Administrative Tools,and fire up the Computer Management applet.open Disk Management and right-click your new disk. Select the "Change Drive letter and paths" option,and press Add. Select"Mount in the following empty NTFS folder," and point it to the newly empty folder on your C: drive.
