"... oh boys..I am so tired of computers...finally I switched all my Macs to Jaguar MacX10.2.2 whatever...I am the only one using Mac at the office..and I feel like being the only one using mac on this planet, but for some reason I love the mac systems...anyways...I installed the operating system, I installed all the new versions of the applications I am using, I figured out how to use Jaguar and I had some great fun for three days...until this morning when I experienced the first Jaguar super crash. The crash itself is different than any other crash...its not like the system simply halts...your open applications die slowly and you can just watch...and the great finale are white linux error messages popping up on your screen...kernel damage blabla whatever and then after 3 minutes you are finally dead. tam tam...and now? Well: Pull the plug and restart the system! And now I faced the big difference: It didnt restart like my old mac systems, but it simply said: local disk cannot be read. Wow! Thats a new one. Well...put the CD in and restart from CD. Start the disk manager and click on repair...and read "Unable to repair volume". Wow! Well..there was nothing important on that drive, so simply install it allfrom scratch (for 4 hours!!!!)..then reboot the machine and guess what: It restarted....but when it came to mount my external drives it said: Unable to mount drive "Master1". Holy shit...thats tomorrows master version of xxxxxxxweb. No backup, no nothing. Well..lets try to repair it. Start the disk manager, click on repair and wait....and wait..."repairing"...well, its a 120 gigs drive so it might take longer...have lunch..come back...still saying "repairing"...make all your phone calls, come back..something changed...now it says "Unable to repair...please try again!". Fuck that!! Stupid motherfucker!! After 4 hours of re-installation and 6 hours of repairing you tell me that????. Call Apple hotline. After 30 minutes of listening to music some bored support guy tells you: If it tells you to try again, you should try again!. Ok smartass. I will. Click repair...have your dinner, make 2 hours phone calls to the Los Angeles office...in the meantime its 2 am...repairing.....3 am....repairing...then I hear a little "boing"..wow!..something happened...and what do my tired eyes see on the screen???..."Unable to repair! Try again". Arrrghhhhhh...you stupid little moron, you! I fart into the beards of all your developers, I will lynch your product manager, I will put "Fuck APPLE" on our main page, I will manually re-produce all things scheduled for tomorrow, but I will not push that stupid "Repair" button again. Hold on...I have my good old laptop in the office and it still runs the old 9.1 Operating System and it has firewire. Lets give it a try! Simply unplug the drive, plug it into the laptop, read the warning about the "Disk cannot be read" thingie, hit cancel and then start Norton Utilities..or lets give "Disk First Aid" a try first. Launch the application and see what happens. It says repairing - estimated time 3 minutes...2 minutes....1 minute...0.5 minutes...Repaired!. Thats it! The masterversion is back and works and nothing is lost! WOOOHOOW. Done by a 3 years old software! You Apple guys call your brandnew Jaguar progress?? Shame on you!!!
Well..and now I am sitting here at 5am in the morning and try to finish tomorrows..I mean todays things...what do we learn? Jaguar is awesome...but when you crash you are fucked! "
